From one sentence to a level 14 drow wizard.
This is what Playrest makes. We gave Genesis a saved idea and kept the character exactly as it came back. Below are the same files a customer receives for that character: a filled-in 2024 character sheet PDF and an SRD reference PDF from Genesis ($0.99), and the optional interactive Companion ($3.99). Download them, open them, and try the Companion.

What was typed
I want to play a drow wizard at level 14 who specializes in spider magic. He is tall woth white hair and really good at fireball. He should be an optimal caster but not very strong.
Shown exactly as saved, typo included. Nothing else was supplied: no class table, no stat block, no spell list.
In the 2024 rules a drow is an Elf who chose the Drow lineage, so the sheet records the species as “Elf - Drow”. Genesis answered “spider magic” and “really good at fireball” with spell choices (Web, Spider Climb, Fireball and Delayed Blast Fireball are all prepared) and the Evoker subclass, which adds his Intelligence to evocation damage. “Not very strong” became Strength 8.
Two PDFs from Genesis, and an optional Companion

19 pages. Pages 1-2 are the official 2024 character sheet, filled in: abilities, skills, attacks, class features, species traits, feats, spell slots and every prepared spell. The pages after that explain his features and give each spell’s casting time, range, components and source page.
SRD reference PDF

Everything the idea left open, disclosed
The idea named a species, a class, a level and a flavor. Genesis chose the rest from supported SRD 5.2.1 options and listed every material choice for review before the character was kept. These are its words, unedited.

The same Vexrin, ready for the table
This is the Companion file for the same accepted character, running inside this page. Tap Roll Fire Bolt for a real attack roll and damage, adjust his hit points, or open The Full Kit for spell slots, every spell, skills and rests.
It makes no network calls and needs no account. In this embedded preview nothing is saved between visits; a purchased Companion saves its state in your own browser.
Your first session as Vexrin
- Print pages 1 and 2 of the character sheet. Keep the rest of that PDF and the reference PDF on a screen for details.
- Start the day with Mage Armor. It costs a level 1 slot and lasts 8 hours: his Armor Class goes from 12 to 15. The sheet records 12, because Mage Armor is not active until you cast it.
- On your turn, cast Fireball at groups and Fire Bolt when you want to save slots. Misty Step (a Bonus Action) teleports him 30 feet out of trouble.
- When something goes wrong, use your Reaction: Shield adds 5 to his Armor Class until the start of his next turn, and Counterspell can stop an enemy’s spell.
- Spider magic: Web fills a 20-foot cube; creatures that fail a DC 18 Dexterity save are Restrained. Spider Climb lets someone walk on walls and ceilings. Both need concentration, and he can hold only one concentration spell at a time.
- Drow lineage: he sees 120 feet in darkness, and can cast Faerie Fire and Darkness once each per Long Rest without using a slot.
- After a Short Rest, Arcane Recovery restores up to 7 levels of spell slots (none of level 6 or higher), once per Long Rest.
Where the key numbers come from
| Number | Value | How it is worked out |
|---|---|---|
| Spell save DC | 18 | 8 + proficiency bonus 5 (level 14) + Intelligence modifier 5. |
| Spell attack | +10 | Proficiency bonus 5 + Intelligence modifier 5. |
| Intelligence | 20 (+5) | 15 from the standard array, +2 from the Sage background, +2 at Wizard level 4 and +1 at level 8. |
| Hit points | 100 | 9 at level 1 (the d6 maximum of 6, plus Constitution modifier 3), then 7 for each of the next 13 levels (the fixed 4 per level, plus 3). |
| Armor Class | 12 | 10 + Dexterity modifier 2, with no armor. Mage Armor makes it 13 + 2 = 15. |
| Fire Bolt | +10, 3d10 + 5 | Spell attack +10. Three dice because the cantrip grows at character level 11; +5 from Empowered Evocation, his Intelligence modifier added to evocation damage. |
| Fireball | DC 18, 8d6 + 5 | A 20-foot-radius burst within 150 feet. Each creature makes a DC 18 Dexterity save and takes 8d6 fire damage, half on a success; Empowered Evocation adds +5 to one damage roll. Sculpt Spells lets him protect up to 4 creatures he can see in the blast (1 + the spell’s level). |
A real Genesis character, labelled honestly
Genesis generated Vexrin on 14 October 2026 from an idea the Playrest team saved for testing. It is a worked example, not a customer’s purchase, and nothing in the character was edited by hand. On 18 October 2026 we produced both PDFs and the Companion from that same accepted character with our current delivery software, offline. The Companion passed every automated check we run before delivery.
We then read the files as a player and checked the numbers above, his saves and skills, spell slots, spells and attacks against the SRD 5.2.1 rules. The reference PDF keeps a few spacing quirks from the SRD source text, such as a space before the punctuation after an italic spell name. As with any character, check your table’s choices with your DM.
