1Who we are

Playrest ("we," "us") is an independent tool that takes a character sheet you provide and generates a single-file, offline "table companion" application from it. Playrest is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any game publisher, and is not an official product of any game system.

2Acceptance

By using Playrest or purchasing a generated app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.

3Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to purchase. By using Playrest you represent that you meet this requirement.

4What the service does

You upload a character sheet (a PDF). We process the character data you provide and generate a custom, single-file application that summarizes and operationalizes that data for your own private table use. The generated app is delivered to you as a file to download and keep. It runs offline on your device and does not require an account.

5Your content and your responsibilities

"Your Content" means any file, character sheet, or material you upload.

• You are responsible for Your Content. You represent and warrant that you own it or have all rights necessary to use it, and that uploading it and having it processed by Playrest does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property, or violate any law or agreement.
• License to process. You grant us a limited, temporary license to use, store, and process Your Content solely to generate your app and provide the service. We do not claim ownership of your character or Your Content.
• No infringing or unlawful uploads. You will not upload material you don’t have the right to use, or content that is unlawful.
• Output for private use. Generated apps are provided for your own private, personal, non-commercial table use.

6Acceptable use

You agree not to: attempt to overload, abuse, or disrupt the service; upload files that exceed posted size or complexity limits; use automated means to generate apps in bulk; resell or commercially redistribute generated apps; or reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Playrest site or generation system.

7Pricing, payment, refunds, and rebuilds

• Pricing. Prices are shown at checkout (currently $3.99 per app). We may change pricing at any time; the price shown at purchase applies to that purchase.
• Payment. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full payment-card details.
• Failed builds. If a generation fails, you are not charged, or you are refunded or credited.
• Free rebuild. If your app completes but misses the mark, your first rebuild is free.
• Otherwise. Because each app is custom-generated at real cost the moment you order, sales are otherwise final. Please review the examples and this policy before purchasing.
• Chargebacks. If you have a problem, contact us first at support@playrest.app — we will make it right within this policy.

8Intellectual property

• Your Content stays yours. We claim no ownership over your character or the material you upload.
• Playrest stays ours. The Playrest name, site, design, and generation system are owned by Playrest and protected by applicable law. These Terms grant you no rights in them beyond using the service.
• Open-licensed reference content. Where generated apps incorporate content available under an open license (for example, System Reference Document material under Creative Commons), that content is used under and attributed per that license.
• Output discipline. Generated apps summarize and operationalize the character data you provide. They are not rulebooks and do not reproduce proprietary rules text wholesale.

9No affiliation; third-party trademarks

Playrest is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher. Any third-party names or marks are referenced only descriptively (for example, to indicate general compatibility) and remain the property of their respective owners. We do not use any third party’s logos or marks as our own.

10Disclaimers

The service and generated apps are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that generated apps will be error-free, fit for any particular purpose, accurate as to game rules, or uninterrupted. Results vary by character and input. Playrest is a play aid, not an official rules source.

11Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Playrest will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid for the app giving rise to the claim.

12Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Playrest from any claim or demand arising out of Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13Intellectual-property complaints

If you believe content processed or made available through Playrest infringes your rights, contact support@playrest.app with a description of the material and your claim, and we will review and act promptly, including removing infringing material where appropriate.

14Changes

We may update the service or these Terms. Material changes will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

15Termination

We may suspend or discontinue the service, or refuse service, at our discretion — for example, for abuse or unlawful use.
