What Playrest is
Playrest is an independent, unofficial play aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any game publisher, and it is not a rulebook or a substitute for one.
How generated companions handle rules
Companions summarize and operationalize the character data you provide — what your abilities do, in your own play terms — rather than reproducing proprietary rules text. Sample companions on this site are built from pregenerated characters based on the System Reference Document 5.1.
Open-licensed content
Where a generated companion incorporates content available under an open license (for example, System Reference Document material under a Creative Commons license), that content is used under, and attributed per, that license. Any such notices appear in the register below.

This site's sample companions include material from the System Reference Document 5.1 ("SRD 5.1") by Wizards of the Coast LLC, available at https://dnd.wizards.com/resources/systems-reference-document. The SRD 5.1 is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.
